Superintendent of Lafourche Parish School Board is presently accepting applications for the following position: Assistant Collector Sales Tax Department
2025-2026 School Year 240 days $54,317.00 - $71,163.00 / Per Year
Qualifications:
- Individual should have:
o Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with a minimum of 12 semester hours in accounting o Five (5) years of administrative and/or management experience o Three (3) years of experience in tax collecting *Substitutions may be allowed -Holding a Certificated Public Accountant license will substitute for four (4) years of experience -Seven (7) years of experience in sales and use tax auditing, financial statement auditing or compliance auditing will substitute for five (5)years of administrative and/or management experience -Five (5) years of legal experience will substitute for three (3) years of tax collecting
Applicants must:
- have a working knowledge of economic & accounting practices, business & management practices, advanced knowledge of MS Office, basic knowledge of Power Point
- be able to handle complaints, settle disputes, resolve grievances and conflicts
- must be fluent in the English language, including: the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar, ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- have a knowledge of laws, court procedures, government regulations
- have the ability to work independently to develop specific goals, plan and prioritize work and accomplish tasks
- have a valid, vehicle operator’s permit and dependable transportation with the ability to travel out-of-town/state as needed
