VP Philanthropy

The Air & Space Forces Association seeks a driven, experienced philanthropy executive who can share our passion for unrivaled American air and space power and inspire others to offer their generous support to the cause. We are an independent, non-profit 501(c)3 committed to advancing dominant Air and Space Forces as the foundation of a strong national defense; supporting Airmen, Guardians, DOD civilians and their Families; and remembering our enduring heritage. We seek a VP of Philanthropy with the vision and skill to build individual and corporate donor relationships and elevate our fundraising capacity. Essential Functions:

Develop and execute strategic fundraising plans for AFA aligned with AFAs mission and goals
Lead a team of development professionals to effectively implement fundraising strategies
Cultivate relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, and other key stakeholders
Work with Membership and Communications teams to promote individual giving
Work with Program leaders to identify new funding opportunities and develop creative approaches to secure philanthropic support
Oversee all aspects of donor stewardship, including gift processing, acknowledgments, and reporting, while building a system to better understand contributors and their motivations
Collaborate with senior leadership to set fundraising goals and track progress
Manage the fundraising budget and ensure financial targets are met
Monitor fundraising performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to optimize revenue generation
Represent the organization at events, conferences, and other networking opportunities.

Required Skills and Certifications:

CFRE Certification
Extensive experience managing donor pipelines through CRM system
Proven experience fundraising for a non-profit entity
Bachelors degree required (Masters preferred) in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising or development roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position securing six and seven-figure gifts/donations, etc.
Knowledge of the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Space Force, and their adjacent industries is preferred.
