The Township of Neville is currently accepting applications for the position of Water / Wastewater Operator / Public Works Laborer. Job Description: This is an entry level position that requires the applicant to perform journey skilled work for the maintenance and repair of the Township’s water distribution system, sewer conveyance system, and all public works facilities, including buildings, grounds, parks, and streets. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. • Must pass a physical, drug test and a criminal background check. • Must have a valid Pennsylvania Class B Commercial Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain licensing within one (1) year of hire. • A minimum of a Class E Water and Wastewater Operator License is preferred, or the ability to obtain licensing within two (2) years of hire. • Basic knowledge of tools, materials and methods used in public works, underground water distribution and sanitary sewer installation, repair and maintenance. • Ability to operate equipment, including, but not limited to jack hammers, air compressors, pumps, saws and mowers. • Ability to operate a standard transmission and heavy equipment, including a dump truck and backhoe. • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance, walk, climb stairs, crawl, kneel, stoop and work in closed, deep and confined spaces, on ladders and to perform all physical activities with or without reasonable accommodation. • Available for 24-hour emergency call and able to work weekends and holidays. Full-time union position with excellent benefits, including health insurance and pension. Six-month probationary period for new hires.
