Project Engineer – Civil Engineering

We are seeking a Project Engineer (Civil Engineering) to join our team in New Bern, North Carolina.   New Bern is a coastal community known for its beauty, historical significance, and community involvement.  Thomas Engineering has been a successful part of the community for more than forty years and is a leading civil engineering firm in the Eastern North Carolina region.

The Project Manager will be responsible for Land Development projects from concept through project completion.  Among primary duties: Design plans for infrastructure such as roads, stormwater management, water and sanitary sewer facilities, site grading, and erosion/sedimentation control.  Utilize computer-aided design tools such as Civil 3D to create detailed plans.  Prepare and present land development reports.  Work with governmental authorities to secure necessary permits to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.  Projects include residential, commercial, and governmental projects from small to large/long-term. 

We may hire more than one candidate and are open to considering both new and experienced candidates.  Salary is based on experience with a range between $75,000 and $135,000.  In addition, there is bonus opportunity, 100% employee paid Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance, retirement, generous vacation and sick leave, relocation assistance, and half day Fridays.
