Building Inspector Full-Time Town of Chester \| Chester, NY Starting Salary: $80,000$95,000 per year The Town of Chester is seeking a qualified and dependable full-time Building Inspector to join our team. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities may include: Conduct building and construction inspections Review properties and projects for compliance with applicable building codes and safety requirements Identify potential construction or code compliance issues Document inspection findings and maintain accurate records Communicate inspection findings and requirements to contractors and property owners Respond to questions regarding building requirements, permits, and inspections Work cooperatively with Town departments and municipal personnel Provide professional and courteous service to residents and members of the public Perform other related duties associated with the Building Inspector position Preferred Qualifications Building Inspector certification Two years of related experience Knowledge of building construction and inspection practices Knowledge of building codes and code compliance Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain accurate inspection and compliance records Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities Professional approach when working with contractors, property owners, residents, and Town personnel Compensation The starting salary range for this full-time position is $80,000$95,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
