Assistant, Associate or Professor of Clinical Practice - Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine

Position Description
The University of Washington Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine has four academic anesthesiologist positions available at the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice, Associate Professor of Clinical Practice or Professor of Clinical Practice at two affiliated hospitals, University of Washington Medical Center-Montlake or Harborview Medical Center. The anticipated start date is March 2027 or thereafter. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community.

The successful candidates will join our faculty on a full-time or part-time basis for a twelve-month appointment. These positions are also not tenure-track and not eligible for tenure. Duties include the teaching of residents, fellows, medical students and the clinical care team. The successful candidate will provide general anesthesia services. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, scholarship and service. The initial appointment period will be three years with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. The base salary range for these positions will be Assistant Professor $33,135 - $34,371 per month ($397,620 - $412,452 annually), Associate Professor $37,140 $37,822 per month ($445,680 - $$453,864 annually), and Professor $39,851 - $40,751 ($478,212 - $489,012 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a US Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through the UWP practice plan. Compensation provided by the UWP practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Qualifications
Must have MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Must be Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in anesthesiology and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Visa sponsorship is not available for part-time positions.
